Tommaso Vallese was born in Bari, in the old part of the town, in the summer of 1949. After accomplishing his life duties, he settled in Valle d’Itria, Ostuni, very close to Cisternino, willing to become an olive grower.
“Olive wood is the most beautiful wood Nature could offer to the humankind” the artist affirms. He loves to rescue it from firewood, and follows its peculiar, unique sinuosities, which have been sculpted through centuries of history.
Olive wood as well as cherry wood, pear wood and rocks eroded by the rivers in the Pollino shape and give birth to his wonderful lamps.
